Seagull Ink is a documentary, film and theatre production company formed by Jill Campbell and Gregory Gerhard. Campbell and Gerhard strive to tell compelling stories in documentary and for the web. They are presently working on a documentary about women running for office in the 2018 election. They are also filming “Dark Elegy.”
Jill Campbell began her career running lines with Morgan Freeman at the Public Theatre. Jill’s has worked for fifteen years as a producer, director and writer on films that have had worldwide distribution and screened on Netflix, Amazon, Kanopy, BBC and Sky TV. Notable festivals include: DOC NYC, American Black Film Festival, Martha’s Vineyard, Miami, Montclair, Sarasota, Seattle, Tribeca and the Warsaw Film Festival. Films include DANCING ACROSS BORDERS (First Run Feathers) NEVER STAND STILL (First Run Features) OUT OF PRINT (Tribeca Film Festival. ) Jill directed, produced and edited the documentary THE HAMLET OF CANFIELD GARDENS about her mentor, British writer Bernard Kops. Jill was awarded a scholarship to Killer Films/Stony Brook Southampton’s 20/20/20 program where she directed and wrote the narrative short AFTER TOMORROW under the helm of producer Christine Vachon. As a writer, Jill participated in CBS’ Writers Daytime Development Lab and her plays have been produced at La MaMa, Mabou Mines, Luna Stage and Dublin Fringe Festival. Jill directed, produced and wrote MR. CHIBBS about NBA All-Star Kenny Anderson. The film premiered at DOC NYC ,was acquired by Abramorama screened at IFC and Alamo Drafthouse and is represented by Cargo Film. Jill is a proud member of the Producer’s Guild of America and Film Fatales and will receive her MFA in documentary from Hunter College in 2018. Jill also works as a freelance producer, editor, writer, script supervisor and director. She is also available as a consultant.
Gregory Gerhard is a proud NYC resident, arriving from Chicago after twelve years directing theater, short films and producing original readings, workshops and full productions. An Associate Artist at Chicago Dramatists, his work has been seen at Chicago Dramatists, Metropolis Performing Arts Center, Actors’ Workshop Theater, Raven Theater, Firstborn Productions, Irish American Heritage Center, Silk Road Theater, Chicago ScriptWorks, Big Tree Productions, Cindy Brandle Dance Company and Deloitte Tax LLP. Documentary work includes OUT OF PRINT, BERNAL’S PICASSO, THE HAMLET OF CANFIELD GARDENS and MR.CHIBBS. Greg directed the short film BUNNY and was the Assistant Director of THE ART OF PAIN.
