Seagull Ink is a documentary, film and theatre production company formed by Jill Campbell and Gregory Gerhard. Campbell and Gerhard strive to tell compelling stories in all mediums.
Jill Campbell began her career running lines with Morgan Freeman at the Public Theatre. She has worked as a producer, director and writer on documentaries that have received worldwide distribution, screened theatrically and appeared on Netflix, Amazon, VOD and Sky TV. Notable festivals include: DOC NYC, Miami Film Festival, Seattle Film Festival, Tribeca Film Festival, Dance on Camera, Santa Fe Film Festival, Newport Film Festival, San Diego Asian Film Festival, Henley Film Festival, Warsaw Film Festival and Lincoln Center. Jill was a producer on DANCING ACROSS BORDERS (First Run Feathers) and a consultant for NEVER STAND STILL (First Run Features). Jill was a producer and writer on OUT OF PRINT which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival. Jill directed, produced and edited the documentary THE HAMLET OF CANFIELD GARDENS about her mentor, British playwright and poet Bernard Kops which screened at the JW3 Center and the Jewish Museum in London. Jill was awarded a scholarship to Killer Films/Stony Brook Southampton’s 20/20/20 program where she directed and wrote the narrative short AFTER TOMORROW under the helm of legendary producer Christine Vachon. As a writer, Jill participated in CBS’ Writers Daytime Development Lab. Jill’s plays have been produced at La MaMa, Mabou Mines, Luna Stage, Dublin Fringe Festival and many other stages around the world. She is a candidate for her MFA in documentary at Hunter College (IMA Program). Jill directed, produced and wrote MR. CHIBBS about NBA All-Star and NYC prodigy Kenny Anderson. The film premiered at DOC NYC and was acquired by Abramorama and is represented by Cargo Film. “Mr. Chibbs” played at festivals and screened around the country notably at Montclair, Sarasota, Miami, Martha’s Vineyard, Atlanta, American Black Film Festival and at the IFC Center, NYC and the Alamo Draft House in Texas. Jill is a proud member of the Producer’s Guild of America and Film Fatales.
Gregory Gerhard is a proud NYC resident, arriving from Chicago after twelve years directing theater, short films and producing original readings, workshops and full productions. An Associate Artist at Chicago Dramatists, his work has been seen at Chicago Dramatists, Metropolis Performing Arts Center, Actors’ Workshop Theater, Raven Theater, Firstborn Productions, Irish American Heritage Center, Silk Road Theater, Chicago ScriptWorks, Big Tree Productions, Cindy Brandle Dance Company and Deloitte Tax LLP. Documentary work includes OUT OF PRINT, BERNAL’S PICASSO, THE HAMLET OF CANFIELD GARDENS and MR.CHIBBS. Greg directed the short film BUNNY and was the Assistant Director of THE ART OF PAIN.
